What Peter W. says about "Accommodation" ?
(May 26, 2009)
Having returned to Phuket from a trip to Southern Destinations in my care, I would not miss to say “thank you very, very much” for your kind hospitality. It was great to experience one of the resort’s pool villas and see that the general resort area is still as well maintained and grown as it used to on my previous visits.
In recent years I stayed in other properties – after all, I have to get an idea of what we could sell. I have to admit, I had somehow lost faith in Koh Lanta as a destination. But seeing that the Pimalai has maintained a great standard of rooms and service made me very happy. And even the ferry services seemed to be on my side this time.
It was very beneficial to be back to one of my “top three favorite” resorts in the South – and we even managed to find some time to relax and enjoy the great views offered by the pool villa.
We not only had a look at rooms and facilities but also on the various trees, bushes and flowers. It’s indeed a true tropical retreat. Nature has disappeared largely from Phuket and I hoped to find Lanta still green. I wasn’t disappointed. While enjoying great sea view, I also spent a long time looking at the hilly neighborhood – it’s amazing how many trees have grown old on this hill. Many of them even seem to tell stories of their long life! I truly hope that the people of Lanta will preserve nature and that hotels built will follow the Pimalai’s example of fitting nicely into their natural environment.
