What Peter, London says about "Accommodation" ?

The fabulous experience started when we were dropped of from our previous hotel at the Pimalai's private jetty....Then onto our own speedboat for the trip to the hotel.......this was an experience. This could only be beaten by one of the Pimalai's guests who arrived in the bay by sea plane...........

On arrival the poor staff carried our luggage from the jetty across the sand and to our room. the service was excellent and check in was very prompt. we were dropped to our room by golf buggy. we stayed in the deluxe rooms (which although are the cheapest are still lovely). the villa's did look beautiful but also slightly isolated up in the steep hill.

The breakfast was great and the choice of beach or two infinity pools was lovely. The upper pool was almost deserted and had beautiful views across the bay. The hotel run s shuttle service to the upper part of the hotel........so you dont have to walk up the hill.

The restaurant food was good but the other restaurants located on the beach also offered excellent food at a fraction of the cost. We would highly recommend Bar Shroom located at the end of the bay and up a lot of steps .....but well worth it for the food and view.

I went diving with Pimalai divers and the sevrice was great and the equipment brand new.....my thanks to david and his staff.

My wife went to the spa and would again recommend it.

The hotel offers excursions......but we decided to book our own via the kantiang bay resort. We went elephant treking and walked through the forest to a waterfall. We also hired mopeds for a day which only cost 300 bhat (about £5) It was great seeing the island and was very safe as nobody went above 30mph. There were lots of beaches to discover.

In previous reviews it has been stated you had to book the restaurants in advance but we found them to be mainly empty. The view from the top restaurant at sunset was spectacular....drinking a chilled bottle of wine whilst the sun set will be a memory forever.

Leaving was the sadest part and although we had spent 8 days we could have easily stayed for another week (but we had to come home!!!) Again the boat trip back was something to remember.

A thank you to all the staff who made our stay memorable.
