Pimalai Resort & Spa gets involved in various activities that benefit the local community. Wherever possible we hire and train local people to fill available positions in the Resort. Other past actions include supplying substantial financial help for the local hospital by providing a dialysis machine as well as donating a ward of 4 comfortable and fully equipped hospital rooms. In addition, the Resort has provided a nearby school with an IT room equipped with 10 desk top computers. Also, for several years, Pimalai has sponsored the development of underwater colonies of clown fish ("Nemopolis") by supplying materials and helping to install millions of juvenile fish. The clown fish releases take place every March to coincide with the official opening of Pimalai in 2002.
More recently, Mrs. Paninart Tiyaphorn, Pimalai's Managing Director, was pleased to hand over the key of fully equipped Police Substation to Police General Boonsong Attavoranan. As well as providing increased security, this most recent facility will increase the island police force's ability to respond, in a more timely fashion, to any emergencies or other activities that require a police presence.
